Well, there has been a slight change of plans. My question is where did that bolt come from? I am assuming from reading his post that that is what he made 28 years ago. Do you mind posting a link or a search term I could use to find it. And, yes, there is a surprising amount of similarity with the Welrod also.Ĭharlie's creation? As much as I have browsed, I have not come across that one. If and when I do get it, would anyone be interested in a complete model in Inventor?īy the way, looking at that again, and the bolt, I am somewhat reminded of Charlie's creation. If and when I do get it, would anyone be interested in a complete model in Inventor? It is a reasonable price and if I can get my FFL to do the paper work, I am jumping on it before it gets away. I found one in Australia in a shop that routinely imports guns into the states. I basically want one for the design and to restore it.ĭid a quick search for the welrod, boy that is a face only a mother could love, but basically the same principle.Īnyone have any thoughts on the actual building of this piece? That 75 is sweet looking but a bit out my price range. īoy, does this look like a welrod in 22lr.

They have two on GunBroker right now, if you look quick. I have gotten by just fine with that so far, but am anxious to move on to more precise endeavors. Please don't be bashful, I am completely new to gun building and my machining experience is limited to a drill press and a file. Oh also, I was thinking about making it a bit more robust around the trigger guard and going with a tube style upper to keep things simple. Not afraid to go whole hog and learn to design the trigger and sear, just hoping for a simple solution, especially for my first. I have no clue about the trigger system on these guns and my current idea is to use the frame from say a Ruger pistol on it, but that may not be possible. I hope that some of you can help me in my endeavor to come up with ideas for this dream of mine. The next three pics are of a bolt that the seller believed was for a Drulov and after looking at some other pictures, I think he was right. Well enough BS here are some more pictures: And by do, I mean design extensively in Inventor and eventually make when I get my shop set up. Then it hit me, this could be the gun design to do my first build on. I want to build a gun bad, but can't find a design that I like. What my problem is now is that I want one bad, I can't find one. I don't know why this intrigues me so much, maybe it is it's simple lines and operation, I don't know why but it speaks to me. After more searching, I found that they are cheap pistols and extremely prevalent in every country except the US and importing one is a nightmare. It is a Drulov Model 70 bolt action single shot 22lr pistol built in Czech Republic. I got a wild hair a couple of weeks ago when someone brought up the topic of single shot pistols on another forum and another person posted this picture: Home > Main Forums > Your Projects > Single shot bolt action pistol, Can't buy a drulov here.Ĭlick here to go to this topic on the "live" site.
